This rug was handwoven by a group of artisans from a village just outside Beni M’rirt, located in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains.

Led by Soukina, the collective brings together 25 artisans and was founded in the early 2000s by her late mother, Keltouma. The group specializes in medium-to-high hand-knot rugs, a plush weaving style named after the region.

Traditional rugs from Beni M’rirt are known for their thick knotting technique, giving each piece its soft, luxurious feel. This rug is made with 100% live sheep’s wool.
